Who the review is for

Built for owners with real moving parts.

New or growing business owner

Entity choice, owner pay, and what the books need to support come up in almost every review.

Medical, dental, or veterinary practice

Practice owners carry entity, compensation, and retirement-plan questions that don’t always get asked.

Moving to Florida, or multi-state

Residency timing, state exposure, and what the move changes on the return.

Real estate investor

Depreciation, how the properties are held, and what the records need to show.

Not sure you fit? Book anyway. If the review isn’t right for you, we’ll say so fast and point you somewhere good. Simple W-2-only returns usually aren’t a fit.

What we actually look at in 30 minutes.

How your entity is taxed versus how you pay yourself
Owner compensation and how it’s documented
State and local filing exposure
Retirement and benefit elections available to the entity
What your books can and can’t substantiate
Timing of income and deductions across the year
Carryovers, credits, and elections already on the return
What your current preparer is and isn’t asking

Fully virtual, wherever you are. Based in Fort Lauderdale.

From the firm’s desk

The record decides. The cases show it.

Watson v. United States

U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Cir., 2012

In an S corporation the label on compensation does not decide how it is taxed; substance does. Distributions come only after a reasonable salary for the work actually performed.

McAlary v. Commissioner

U.S. Tax Court, Summary Opinion, 2013

A salary that exists only in a set of minutes, with no W-2 behind it, is not one the record will defend.

Fleischer v. Commissioner

U.S. Tax Court, T.C. Memo. 2016-238

Income is taxed to the one who earns it. An entity earns income when the contracts, the counterparties, and the 1099s say so.

Common questions.

Is it really free?

Yes, it is unconditionally free. The call and the written Snapshot cost nothing, whether or not we ever work together.

Is this a sales call?

It’s a review. If we see a fit, we’ll say so plainly and show you the flat fee in writing. If we don’t, we’ll tell you that instead, and the Snapshot is yours either way.

Do I need to send documents ahead of time?

It’s optional but helpful. After booking you can upload your two most recent returns through our secure encrypted link (no account needed), which lets us make the most of your 30 minutes. Or just share your screen on the call, whichever you prefer.

Do you work with clients remotely?

Yes, the whole firm runs virtually, with a simple online setup for documents and signatures when you become a client, so your location is not a barrier.

Who conducts the review?

A CPA on our team, the same person who prepares and reviews client work, not a sales rep reading a script.
